SCHOLARSHIP
PROGRAMME
One of the Programmes of SUM
Scholarship Programme
Since November 2021, SUM Scholarship Programmes have been assisting conflict affected communities such as IDP Camps and Ethnic Communities in order to continue their academic and vocational studies. We have been proffering our monthly short term certificate courses, diploma courses, and online exclusive classes to communities where people will be learning in offline groups. This program has stayed on track and we have been empowering over 350 students partnered with 25 distinct communities across Myanmar.
The entire selection process requires the assistance of our partners as well as different programs and schools under SUM. Monthly courses are catalogued and compiled accordingly by the academic team which is then delivered to our partners on the first week of every month. The partners will be responsible for distributing the handout book to their respective communities and filling out the scholarship assessment form.
The forms will be assessed and rated by the Scholarship Committee and the Schools using a fair and non-discriminatory criteria. The selected students will be handed over to another department of SUM where they will be onboarded to their respective courses (or) classes.
